Accreditation Actions

March 2022 Accreditation Action: Accept the Progress Report.

Rationale: The program is compliant with all Standards.

Accreditation Award: Continuing Accreditation.

August 2021 Accreditation Action: Grant seven years of Continuing Accreditation with a Progress Report. The program remains non-compliant with the following 2012 Standards:
The following Standards are Partially Met:
Standard 24. The Curriculum. The following eight curriculum competencies are Not Met:
I.A.2., I.A.4., III.H.1., IV.A.2.a. and IV.A.2.b, V.D.2., VI.C.2., VI.C.3., VI.F.3.
The following competencies are Partially Met: I.B.4.a. and I.B.4.b., III.A.1.
Standard 26. Curriculum Syllabi and Competencies. The competencies are not clearly labeled as the AHIMA Entry-level competencies. A few did have the AHIMA competencies included in the course learning outcomes both in text and with the numbers. These just need to include an explanation of the meaning of the numbers behind the text. Finally, two syllabi, from MDR 202C and MDR 203C are missing. Presumably, these classes would also have AHIMA entry-level competency outcomes.
Standard 32. Student Records. It is unclear how applications are received and processed, as well as how students are notified of acceptance.  Copies of these letters must be maintained in a student file. Additionally, there are no degree plans. Even if the students generally move through in a cohort, each student must have a degree plan, agreed to by the student, as well as the advisor.
