Rationale: The program is compliant with all Standards.
Accreditation Award: Continuing Accreditation.
May 2016 Accreditation Action: Grant ten years of Continuing Accreditation with a Progress Report. The program remains non-compliant with the following Accreditation Standards:
The following Standards are Partially Met:
Standard 24. The Curriculum. The program must demonstrate that the curriculum meets or exceeds the professional course content as published in the AHIMA HIM entry-level curriculum competencies. There are 18 PM or NM competencies that have been addressed in the program response. Sixteen have been accepted, and two still need additional work.
Standard 28. Professional Practice Experiences. The program is inconsistent with the delivery of the PPE course. All students must have a similar experience and be evaluated in a similar fashion. There is no student exemption for a PPE.
Standard 32. Student Records. There is no evidence of HIT program director/faculty involvement in advising. Program officials must maintain student records that reflect evidence of student evaluation on all levels, and progression toward achievement of program requirements.
