December 2020 Accreditation Action: Accept the Progress Report.

Rationale: The program is compliant with all Standards.

Accreditation Award: Continuing Accreditation.

May 2020 Accreditation Action: Grant 10 years of Continuing Accreditation with a Progress Report. The program remains non-compliant with the following Standards:
The following Standards are Partially Met:
Standard 24. The Curriculum. The following standards remain Partially Met in content after review:
Domain IA1 – the use of this assignment is to have the students use the references in the Encoder. No actual application of codes is occurring.
Domain IA2 – in this EHRGo assignment, the students are assigning codes, not verifying the accuracy of the coding.
Domain IA3 – The repetition in this assignment needs to increase. The assignment only includes one scenario. More is needed.
Domain IA4 – in this EHRGo assignment the student is not verifying the accuracy of the DRG or procedure groupings.
In general, Domain IA – Classifications Systems needs some revision to strengthen the students work in coding. The remainder of the competencies cited on the site visit are now met in terms of content. However, there is no indication on any of the revisions when they will be implemented. This needs to be clarified.
Standard 26. Curriculum Syllabi and Competencies. After review of the resubmitted syllabi, there are some syllabi still missing as follows: No due dates are included on the syllabus; HITT 1305, HITT 1301, HPRS 2301, HITT 1341, HITT 1353, HITT 1311, HITT 2335. Inclusion of the AHIMA Candidate Guide for Exams in the following courses, instead consider including in the PPE and review course: HITT 1301, HITT 2335.
