Accreditation Actions

September 2016 Accreditation Action: Accept the Progress Report.

Rationale: The program is compliant with all Standards.

Accreditation Award: Continuing Accreditation

February 2016 Accreditation Action: Grant 10 years of Initial Accreditation with a Progress Report. The program remains non-compliant with the following Standards:
The following Standards are Partially Met:
Standard 4. Program Goals. This standard is partially met pending upload of the revised Program Evaluation Plan that addresses the revision required to the Community of Interest goal and target outcomes as described in Standard #8.
Standard 8. Communities of Interest Goal. While the concept established in the revised target outcome is acceptable, there is no metric established for the target outcome of the program offering CEUs with guest speakers presenting to the community practitioners.
Standard 9. Advisory Committee Requirement Goal. The program has revised the target outcome, steps to achieve and results to reflect incorporation of the Program Evaluation Plan (PEP) in the routine responsibilities of the Advisory Committee. As written, it is not clear if the program director and faculty understand that the PEP is not just the curriculum, but includes the goals, target CAHIIM
outcomes, steps to achieve and periodic results for full program operational evaluation included in the meetings and minutes of the Advisory Committee.
Standard 24. The Curriculum. Three revised syllabi were provided in the program response to the site visit report. They now demonstrate inclusion of related entry-level competencies in each syllabus. Course schedules are detailed and maintained as an appended document to the course syllabus. Competencies and content highlighted in the Curriculum Findings Report as deficient are being addressed by the program faculty with new activities to be implemented in subsequent terms. These will be assessed once implemented, not at this time.
