The following Standards are Partially Met:
Standard 8. Communities of Interest. Employer satisfaction with graduates is appropriate under standard #7. The intent of the Communities of Interest goal is to identify ways to give back to the community such as providing CEU opportunities by the program or other methods of outreach to the HIM community.
Standard 24. The Curriculum. This program was reviewed under the old 2011 competencies mapped to the new 2014 competencies. While documentation has been provided most of the new activities have not yet been implemented and taught in the program. New materials are not accepted for review at this time.
Standard 25. The Program has requested a change in course offering (Pharmacology) which occurs too late in the curriculum to support coding instruction. The College Curriculum Committee does not meet until September 2017.
Standard 27. Curriculum Evaluation. While several examples of revised final exams have been provided, they demonstrate some typos and are still limited in the scope of evaluation at higher taxonomy levels. The program is encouraged to provide faculty support to improve test writing skills for more challenging test questions.
