The following Standards are Partially Met:
Standard 2. Program Mission. While a revised HIM Program Mission statement was provided in the Program Response there is no indication of where this appears as published. It is not on the Program website.
Standard 18. Professional Development. A CEU report from AHIMA was provided for J. Barker. No professional development plans for the other full time faculty member or the Program Director were provided. The PEP in standard #4 indicates that the two full time faculty attended AOE in 2016.
Standard 24. Curriculum. The Program has made substantial efforts to improve the curriculum to address the deficiencies cited. There remain five (5) subdomain competency areas that require improvement or evidence of the actual activity or assignment that addresses the competency at the required taxonomic levels.
Standard 29. Health and Safety. While an institution records retention/destruction policy was appended, there is no mention of student records of student health histories, criminal background checks and drug testing for clinical practicum placements. If this information is maintained by the Program Director or by the institution, a policy for privacy protection, release and destruction must be created.
